Hope all the children have settled back into the school routine and enjoying their learning. I wanted to let you that we have, for this new school year, introduced a school creed; a statement about what sort of place we want our school to be.
We have been learning it together and we recite it at the end of assemblies and other times when we gather together as a school. Miss Barnett has also taught the children some actions to go with it! Our intention is to build a sense of teamwork and belonging, so that everyone feels they are playing a part in the success of the school. #teamsnitt

Great Roast Dinner Day Celebration, Wednesday 14th of November
We are planning to take part in 'Food for Life’s' Roast Dinner Day taking place on Wednesday the 14th of November. It’s a national day for schools to join, and open their doors to parents, grandparents and members of their local community to enjoy a delicious roast dinner together with the children! Excited?!?! Look out for the invitations before half-term. To whet your appetite.....
This year, Food for Life’s Roast Dinner Day falls under an even bigger celebration of school food – the Great Roast Dinner Celebration. Schools like us across the country are signing up to join the Great Roast Dinner Celebration.

Class 1
Have been looking at 'Harvest'. We have printed with harvest fruit and vegetables, read The Enormous Turnip, retold the story with props and made collage pictures for our Harvest Assembly this coming week!
Class 2
Recently, we enjoyed a fantastic Roald Dahl Celebration Day and wanted to share the photos with you! The children ate big juicy peaches - cue juicy faces -, listened to stories and had lots of learning learning about the Roald Dahl's fantastic book.
Class 3
Were extremely proud, and did a really great job, performing to parents at their Class Sharing Assembly this Wednesday. They brought to life the story of the Rainbow Crow by Naomi Howarth through acting, poetry and dance. All very confidently and beautifully spoken too!
If you weren't able to make to make the assembly, you can watch a couple of videos of the performances below (more were taken but they're unfortunately too large to upload to the website at present!):

Learning about their responsibilities and rules in P.S.H.E with Mrs Worland.
Oh, they are so bright!
In a recent science lesson, we were testing conductors and insulators with a couple of bits of class equipment.
Thanks to George, year 6, for the images and captions!
Last Friday Mrs Plaskitt announced some of the Y6 roles for 2018-2019. The remaining few, yet to receive their badges, will be given them this coming week!
Huge congratulations to all the children, see below; we have some very responsible Year 6's keen to embrace their school responsibilities and get started (and get their badges!). This year saw the re-launch of four new houses: Hall's Croft, Hathaway, Arden and Shakespeare. The students in each house will compete, over the course of the year, for house points -the competition is already proving very fierce!
