Fees and Funding

Free Childcare

Government funding is available for free childcare at our setting, subject to eligibility requirements:

  • For 3- and 4- year-olds, the universal entitlement of 15 hours per week during term time;
  • For disadvantaged 2-year-olds, 15 hours per week during term time;
  • For 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds with working parents, 30 hours per week during term time.

Full details can be found online at Best Start In Life, which includes a 'childcare support checker' to help you identify what childcare support you are eligible for and links to apply for 30 hours funding for working parents.

Please also refer to our Nursery Fees Policy on the school's Policies page. Our nursery administrator can offer guidance on how to apply for free childcare - please e-mail SnitterfieldNursery@welearn365.com.

The nursery requests payment of optional charges from parents to contribute towards the following costs, which Governemnt funding is not intended to cover:

  • Snacks (£0.25 per funded morning session)
  • Consumables that are not necessary for the effective delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework, but which enhance the children's nursery experience, such as supplies for cooking, messy play, extra craft materials (beyond paper, paint glue, crayons etc) and gardening, as well as supplies for festivals throughout the year and celebrations, such as graduation (£0.25 per funded day attending).

Requests for payment of optional charges are sent half termly, but payment is entirely voluntary. The nursery's hope is that those who can afford to pay will do so, which will enable every child in the setting to receive the same experience, regardless of their parents' ability to contribute.

Fees

The nursery charges fees for hours not covered by Government funding. For the 2025/26 academic year, the hourly fee is £7:00; fees are invoiced half termly.

Please refer to our Nursery Fees Policy on the school's Policies page for further information.

Tax-free childcare

Snitterfield Primary School is fully registered with the government’s Tax-Free Childcare Scheme.

You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).

To check whether you are eligible for Tax-Free Childcare and to apply, please use the following link:  https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare

Registration Deposit

A £30.00 deposit is required to secure a place at the nursery; for those accessing free childcare entitlements, this will be refunded after your child has completed their first week at nursery.
